Program Overview
Our Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is open to licensed professionals with mental health degrees such as Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, and Psychiatric Nursing. This program is designed to provide candidates with a robust foundation in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Program Requirements
Candidates in the Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy are required to complete the following components:
Two-Year Core Curriculum: The two-year core curriculum is the foundation for all of our training programs, covering essential psychoanalytic theories, methodologies, and contemporary practices. This curriculum is designed to provide a deep and comprehensive understanding of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
Clinical Practice: Candidates are required to treat a minimum of three patients in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This hands-on experience is crucial for applying theoretical knowledge to real-world clinical situations.
Supervision: Weekly individual and group supervision sessions are integral to the program. These sessions provide guidance, feedback, and support from experienced supervisors, helping candidates refine their clinical skills and approach.
Personal Psychotherapy: Engaging in personal psychotherapy is a cornerstone of the program. This requirement helps candidates gain self-awareness and a deeper understanding of the therapeutic process from both the therapist’s and the patient’s perspectives.
Certification and Further Training
Upon completing the two-year program, candidates will receive a certificate recognizing their successful completion of the Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
